Pomodoro Technique

A practical guide to focused work intervals, breaks and building a sustainable productivity rhythm.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method based on short, protected periods of focused work followed by breaks. Its value is simple: give one task your attention for a defined period instead of deciding continuously whether to continue.

Start with 25/5

Focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. Repeat and adjust only after you understand how the rhythm feels for your work.

Try 50/10 for deep work

Tasks with a high setup cost can benefit from longer sessions. A 50-minute focus block followed by 10 minutes away from the screen is a useful alternative.

How many sessions should you do?

There is no universal number. Start with two or three protected sessions and increase only if your attention and energy remain good. The goal is consistent focused work, not maximizing a counter.
